Statesman Journal: Tax increases passed by the Oregon Legislature last session will go before the voters in a special election set for Jan. 26, Secretary of State Kate Brown said Thursday. Opponents were able to gather enough signatures to place House Bill 2649 and House Bill 3405 on the ballot, Brown said. HB 2649 will appear on the ballot as Measure 66. HB 3405 will appear on the ballot as Measure 67. It will be the first time that Oregon has voted on a statewide referendum since 2004.
