Denver Business Journal: A Denver District Court Judge on Thursday dismissed eight remaining claims in a lawsuit from opponents of Amendment 47, the so-called "right-to-work" ballot initiative that would bar labor unions from collecting mandatory dues in workplaces that engage in collective bargaining. The matter next will go in front of the Colorado Supreme Court, according to an opponent of Amendment 47. Earlier this month, District Court Judge Christina Habas dismissed 21 claims, and said state law doesn't require the secretary of state to conduct a line-by-line review of all signatures gathered in the petition. Habas' judgment said that even if the other contested signatures weren't valid, she didn't have the jurisdiction to change the secretary of state's certificate of sufficiency.
