The Bismarck Tribune: Advocates of a North Dakota income tax cut have turned in petitions to put their proposal on the ballot. Secretary of State Al Jaeger now has to make sure there are enough signatures to qualify for a statewide vote. Backers of the measure say they have more than 15,000 signatures. They need 12,844 names to get on the ballot. The measure would cut North Dakota's individual income tax rates by 50 percent and its corporate tax rates by 15 percent. Seven more initiative petitions are still circulating. They have to be turned in by Aug. 5 to have a chance at a November vote.
