Associated Press: Missourians could soon be asked to sign petitions for ballot initiatives limiting the use of eminent domain to take private property. A state appeals court on Tuesday rewrote the summary for one proposed constitutional amendment restricting eminent domain. It rejected challenges brought against a second proposal. Both measures are sponsored by the group Missouri Citizens for Property Rights. Chairman Ron Calzone says supporters held off on gathering signatures because of the legal challenge. But he says they now will start gathering signatures - perhaps as soon as this weekend. To make the November ballot, supporters must collect about 150,000 signatures of registered voters by May 2.
